The Wisconsin Office of Rural Health provides programming and resources to improve access to and quality of rural healthcare throughout the state. As the Rural Health Epidemiologist, I assess, analyze, and report rural health data; track the effectiveness of the Office's programs and collaborative projects; and mentor graduate and GIS certificate student interns. As an Associate Researcher, I assisted in the development and implementation of community- and state-level program evaluations; developed data collection tools based on best-practice design methodology; collected, managed, and analyzed project evaluation-related data; and provided evaluation- and data use-related training and technical assistance. In addition, I served as the Chair of the State Epidemiological Outcomes Workgroup and assisted in the development of county- and state-wide epidemiological reports.

Greater Los Angeles Area

Within the Alcohol and Drug Program Administration, I conducted community assessments and developed data-collection system protocols; provided strategic planning technical assistance to contracted service providers and created the Strategic Prevention Plan for Los Angeles County; and developed monitoring and evaluation tools to track and evaluate process and impact of services.

Santa Ana, California

As a member of the Alcohol and Drug Education and Prevention Team (ADEPT), I developed monitoring and evaluation tools, collected and analyzed data from service providers, provided evaluation and strategic planning technical assistance, developed contracts and scopes of service, and wrote grant proposals for competitive funds. I took a break from this position in 2006 to volunteer in South Africa and was thrilled to return to ADEPT when I came back to the US.

I was honored to serve as the first evaluator for the Sizanani Outreach Programme, a critical program that provides home-based healthcare and many other needed services. As the program's evaluator, I coordinated the collection, analysis, and distribution of program data, developed data collection tools and data management systems, monitored and evaluated program progress and quality, and conducted training and presentations on data collection and data findings.
