I realized early on in my professional career that being happy doing what you are doing is far more important than a title, salary or prestige. My first technical position out of college was a great experience but ran it's course. I took a chance and started free-lance work, and put more effort into another interest - basketball officiating. Passions took me from behind the keyboard to the front of the room, sharing the knowledge that I gained elsewhere, in an effort to help my peers and those behind me. I grew, evolved and redirected my professional targets to things I enjoyed and where I excelled. Over 20 years of officiating on floor ultimately took me off the floor and back behind a desk where I could best serve the game. There's a master plan in the universe, unbeknownst to us all. Have faith, trust, and follow along. The best is yet to come.
