Senior Consultant leading in Transformation and Programme Management

An exciting and successful assignment working with the Corporate Management Team, Cabinet, Members and Officers to develop and initiate delivery of the organisations, Vision 2020, Transformation Programme. In addition to supporting delivery of the overall strategic approach, a practical approach was developed to support the delivery of the programme with Communication and Engagement, Change Management, Programme and Project Management.

Leading the development of the corporate strategic approach to enable the organisation to work more effectively internally and with partners and communities to support communities to become safer, stronger and more resilient and to reduce demand on the public sector estate.Programme Executive, responsible for the definition, initiation and delivery of an innovative, cross organisational programme to implement the agreed changes. Leading on the co-design of the approach with Members, Officers and Partners.Includes re-design of the Community Development Service, design and delivery of Learning and Development for Members and Officers, Culture and Behaviour change, Process re-design, Development and Delivery of supporting Toolkits and Methodologies and increasing the number of community based initiatives underway across West Sussex.With wider responsibilities as a member of the Directorate Senior Management Team including Business Planning and Staff Management/Development.

Led a highly successful partnership programme across the 8 local authorities of West Sussex successfully delivering savings and improved services.Working with the CEOs of the West Sussex Councils and a team of Senior Officers, facilitated agreement in relation to shared objectives and key projects, successfully negotiated shared governance and cost and benefits sharing protocols to enable effective partnership working and then managed the programme of agreed projects having secured programme funding.Projects included: Economic Development, Shared IT infrastructure, Telephony and CRM team, Asset Rationalisation, Single Person Discount Review.Delivered improved services for residents, more efficient use of resources and shared savings (to date circa £1.5m with planned savings of circa £4m) as well as initiating new income generation via the Single Person Discount Review circa £1.1m.Guest Speaker at GovNet event: Efficient ICT: 2012

Lead the programme to transfer the Public Health function from the PCT to WSCC including: Leadership and Staff engagement, Financial and Budget Review, TUPE of staff, novation of contracts, location changes, system changes(HR/Payroll/IT), new Business Processes and ways of working.Approach to transfer was commended in a Peer Review undertaken soon after the transfer was complete.

Recruited to lead a highly sensitive programme for the Learning Disability Service, in order to facilitate the delivery of service improvement and transfer to another providerSuccessful and safe transfer of improved service provision achieved

Led the implementation of the Care Records Service project for Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust working in partnership with Fujitsu.Responsible for all aspects of Change and later on Project Management in a Prince2 environment.As a result of the success of this work, was brought into the Acute Health CRS programme to develop and implement effective Change Management prior to go-live due to a high risk situation developing.

Led the Choose and Book project using Prince2 methodology resulting in the successful implementation of the project ensuring that the Trust met - and exceeded - national targetsLed on a range of Service Improvement initiatives resulting in being nominated for 4 Trust Awards in January 2006 including: The Innovation Award, The Joint Working Award, The Team of the Year award and the Excellent Customer Service Team Award. Was awarded Team of the Year award for contribution to Service Improvement.

Set up and managed own Consultancy company offering a range of services including: Training and Facilitation, External Project evaluation, bespoke design Customer Research.Successful growth based on recommendations with client companies: Western Sussex PCT, The Medical Education Centre at St. Richards Hospital, The Surrey Learning Skills Council, Citizen's Advice Bureaux, Surrey Probation Service, Sure Start, Headway, a Surrey based Housing Association and Paula Rosa Kitchens.

Responsible for design and delivery of Research Methodology and final year Dissertations for second year students in the department of Health and Social Care.Trained and mentored new Lecturers as well as being responsible for a large number of students as their personal tutor.Significantly raised grades in my subject areas.
