Managing digital communications and website for the Alumni Office.

University Of Oxford Development Office

Working in the University of Oxford's Development Office, on the website for Oxford Thinking: The Campaign for the University of Oxford (http://www.campaign.ox.ac.uk) and a range of internal and external publications.

Editorial manager of the gradireland series of graduate careers publications, produced in partnership with university careers services in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Website manager for gradireland.com and postgradireland.com. Project managed the relaunch of two websites, created social media strategy and set up the gradireland blog. Created and delivered a training course for Queen's University Belfast on 'Social media for careers services', courses on 'Writing for the web' for the Association of Higher Education Careers Services, and internal training courses in Plain English.

In my first three years at gradireland, I grew the series from one directory and one website to a comprehensive portfolio of print and web publications. In 2008 I was promoted to editorial manager and launched more new products including bespoke sponsored titles and a bilingual publication.

Launched and developed new staff magazine. Magazine was winner of Plain English Campaign award, 2004; it also scored highly in a staff satisfaction survey. Achieved membership of Government Information and Communications Service (now the Government Communications Network) in 2004.

Created website for drama therapy charity; ongoing content editing and site management (contract-based).

Editing for print and online publications. Staff position from 2000; freelance from 1995.

North West Arts Board: PR officer, contract based (maternity cover); subsequently editor on newsletters, annual reports etc (freelance).

Contract-based writer for PR consultancy, working for Christian and mainstream clients.

Portfolio career of freelance writing, editing, PR and training contracts, mostly for arts organisations.

Deputy arts editor of the Daily Post (casual); pop columnist for the Echo (freelance). During this time I was on the judging panel for the Liverpool Daily Post & Echo Arts Awards, on the steering committee for contemporary arts festival Video Positive, and a volunteer for Merseyside Film Institute.
