I've been a resident in the Woodlands since early 2015, but my grandfather moved to this vicinity around 50 years ago, so I've been familiar with this area for much of my life. Most of my professional career as an intellectual property lawyer has been spent in the Washington, D.C. and San Francisco Bay areas.Since returning to the Houston area I worked for the law firm DLA Piper in downtown Houston and studied acting and voice over training.During my years with Chevron in San Ramon,CA, I participated in the San Ramon citizen training academy in local government, and served San Ramon for several years as representative to the Contra Costa County Library Commission.Prior to law school, while working at Gulf Oil as an engineer, I taught mathematics for several years at the Lamar University College of Technical Arts. In Fall, 2018 I made my acting debut as the registrar in the film, "The Drone", written by screenwriter John McLaughlin. It is a promotional film for Sam Houston State University. A link to the "making of" clip is attached below. My scene is in it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrlPVo5D3l0In 2019 I was assaulted in a purse snatch outside the Woodlands Mall in which my shoulder was broken. My assailant was caught. Following surgery and rehab I have become more interested in personal safety issues and safety for women in particular.Attached are past articles of mine related to the field of intellectual property law.https://www.aipla.org/members/Pages/AIPLA-Career-Blog.aspxhttp://www.fierceenergy.com/story/falling-prices-pump-put-premium-energy-ip/2015-05-07http://bit.ly/aipla-new-lawyers-committee-business-casual-fall-2014http://www.aipla.org/committees/committee_pages/Chemical-Practice/Committee%20Documents/Newsletters%20-%20Chemical%20Practice%20Chronicles/2014/Newsletter%20Spring%202014.pdf "Patent wars: Can the Energy Industry Avoid Them?" can be found at this link: www:http://www.dlapiper.com/en/us/insights/publications/2014/09/ipt-news-23/patent-wars/
