I’ve always been a tinkerer; being curious and taking things apart from early childhood are probably what set me on my path to becoming a Software Engineer. I once disassembled my laptop (after ordering a replacement charging port) and spent a week getting everything back in its place. This led me to take Computer Repair in high school and get my CompTIA IT Fundamentals certification. I completed the program quickly and was placed in the school's Web Development class. The best part of this field is finding ways to enrich peoples’ lives or solve their problems. My favorite part of the process is collaborating with my team in different ways. For now, I’d like a role that lets me expand my skill set and meet some like-minded people. In the long term, I’d like to be part of a company that brings positive changes to the lives of less-fortunate people through software.I learned a lot during my time as a Software Engineering Intern at the SUNY New Paltz Benjamin Center. I’ve especially enhanced my skills in Object Oriented Programming, IOS app development, and back-end web development. I was commended for my timely and efficient delivery of projects as well as clear and consistent communication throughout the processes. One of my biggest challenges so far was facing financial issues during my academics, which caused me to spend more time in college than I had planned. I learned to be self-reliant and go the extra mile to achieve my goals rather than waste time or assign blame. On a personal note, I love horror movies. I'll watch almost any horror movie though Found Footage is my favorite sub-genre and The Blair Witch Project is probably in my top 5 favorite movies. I also play video games like FPS and Platformer games. Recently, I’ve been going to the gym in my free time to improve my overall health and challenge myself physically.
