As Head of Skills Training and Content Development, I lead consultancies and farmer training programs, specializing in forage production, conservation, and ruminant nutrition. I collaborate with organizations such as SNV, TIDE, NEADAP II, FAO and Africa Milk Projects, where I develop tailored training materials, establish demonstration farms, and provide comprehensive training to extension officers, consultants, trainers of trainers, service providers, and livestock farmers.Key Contributions: • Forage Production & Ruminant Nutrition:Led initiatives to ensure year-round fodder availability through the FAO and NEADAP II projects. I conducted Rumen8 training sessions across several counties in Kenya and East African countries, helping to improve forage production and conservation strategies. • Data Collection & Analysis:Supported data collection efforts in Baringo and Makueni counties, focusing on soil, feed, and forage sampling, analysis, and reporting. Additionally, I assisted with herd record management and cost analysis of forage production, contributing valuable insights for project reports. • Training & Capacity Building:Developed and delivered training programs that have empowered a diverse range of stakeholders, including extension officers and livestock farmers, to adopt sustainable farming practices.

I worked on multiple projects in various capacities, including as a Dairy Advisor and Assistant Project Coordinator in Monitoring & Evaluation. My roles involved overseeing farm performance, implementing dairy projects, and supporting research and development initiatives.Key Contributions: • Cashcow Project (Project Coordinator):Led a feeding trial with 50 dairy cows across small-scale farms in various regions. This project demonstrated that balanced, ration-based feeding could help dairy farmers maintain profitability. I also facilitated training for dairy cooperatives and established links between fodder producers and consumers to improve the fodder value chain. • Monitoring & Evaluation (Assistant Project Coordinator):Contributed to the Kenya Market-led Dairy Program, Dairy Profit CTA Project, and other initiatives within Perfometer Agribusiness, focusing on monitoring key performance indicators and providing strategic solutions to enhance dairy farm operations. • Academy of Dairy Managers (Trainer & Coordinator):Trained over 300 dairy managers and farm owners on increasing milk quality and production, with a focus on nutrition, breeding, fertility, farm assessments, and record-keeping. This initiative helped improve overall farm efficiency. • App & Technology Development:Played a supervisory role in the development of the Cowpro Herd Management software and the Cashcow web and Android applications, which provide herd management tools and facilitate the marketplace for fodder and dairy cows. • Content Development:Contributed to the Dairywise Managers’ Handbook and Dairy E-learning videos, aimed at educating farmers and improving dairy management practices. • Quality Assurance:Ensured the quality and effectiveness of products and services delivered under various projects.

During my time with SNV Kenya under KMDP, I progressed from an intern to a Junior Dairy Consultant, taking on a range of responsibilities that contributed to the growth and success of dairy operations in the region.Key Contributions: • Practical Dairy Training Centre (Mawingu Dairy Farm):Spearheaded the establishment of a Practical Dairy Training Centre at Mawingu Dairy Farm in Nyeri County. I was responsible for dairy farm management, skills and staff training, data collection, and fostering partnerships with input suppliers and service providers. The training encouraged farmers to adopt best practices, leading to a noticeable increase in milk production both at Mawingu and at the farms of trainees. • Vilan Technology Ltd Representation:From November 2016 to August 2018, I represented SNV KMDP at Vilan Technology Ltd, where I was involved in introducing the Uniform Agri herd management software to the Kenyan market. My role encompassed sales, after-sales service, managing the East Africa helpdesk, user training, organizing on-farm demonstrations, and coordinating field days. My efforts were integral to the successful adoption of the Uniform Agri tool. • Cow Signals Training:Received specialized training on Cow Signals from Vetvice, Netherlands, which equipped me to further establish dairy model farms and lead farmer training sessions. I facilitated training for dairy society T&E staff, focusing on farm and fodder management, and on-farm feed formulation.
