With major involvement in new constructions across the Mackay, Bowen and Whitsunday Regions and a significant portion of Solar Farms in the region under their Operations and Management.In this role I Certified and Installed the Fibre Optic and Copper Structured Data Cabling, TV/Satellite Distribution, and CCTV, Security & Access Control Systems. I also assisted with aspects of electrical installation and fit-off. A major achievement was the delivery of the Whitsunday Regional Council Fibre Optic Backbone Renewal Project. This involved the Design, Installation, and certification for 2.4 kilometres of twin Fibre optic cables between the new Proserpine disaster management building and the council depot. No Joints were allowed. This involved careful planning for road closures, traffic and pedestrian management, team management, WH&S etc. The project was delivered on time and on budget earning the praise of all stakeholders.

In July 2002 I decided to change my career from Hospitality to I.T. To achieve this, I signed up for a Certificate III in Information Technology at The Northern Institute of Tafe. This was the catalyst that moved me into Teaching. After achieving first place in the certificate III and subsequent Certificate IV’s I was offered a casual teaching role and accepted it.
