Role and responsibilitiesAs a resource created to tackle serious and organised crime, my role includes:- Gathering, submitting, evaluating and grading intelligence from various sources within the region; Planning and executing warrants for people and/or properties to aid in the recovery of weapons, drugs and crime related evidence; Handling, processing and the recording of large amounts of drugs and money; Organising surveillance operations by using covert and overt techniques to observe and follow high level prolific and priority offenders; Coordinating with multiple outside agencies to ensure a common goal; Covering short notice requirements such as high profile sporting occasions, public marches and major local events; Dealing with high risk group violence, involving use of tactical shields, full body armour, PR24 batons, CS gas and handcuffing techniques - all of which required Public Order training; Filing highly accurate and on time paperwork to local courts; Providing visual and verbal evidence to aid local court prosecutions; Interviewing and seeking charging decisions on criminal matters; and Protecting the public from all manner of dangers and threats.This demanding role requires me to be constantly self motivated and dependable. It is imperative I am up to date on current events and criminal patterns, as well as being able demonstrate personal and public health & safety assessments whilst performing my daily commitments.
