I started my professional career at Assetinsure, an Australian general insurance company as a graduate developer in 2004. During that time I worked my way up to be one of their senior software developers and team leads. I was responsible for the full software development lifecycle from initial requirement gathering to task estimation, modelling and design, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.In addition to the technical skills that I learnt whilst producing their line of business C# .net solutions, the role also provided me a variety of business skills. These skills have enabled me to relate to all levels of management, to a variety of business personnel, and work successfully with a diversity of personalities, customers, and end-users. Recognised for my knowledge, problem solving ability, and communication expertise, I was selected to travel internationally on a number of occasions to provide training and guidance to Berkley Re, their largest external customer.Delighted with the service I was providing, and the knowledge I had obtained, Berkley Re Australia then offered me a position to help run a new development team. The endeavour is to develop their next whole of enterprise software solution for the Asia Pacific region.
