Pete Ockleshaw is a wildlife enthusiast with over 15 years service to the Melbourne Zoo as a Zoo Encounters Presenter. He has a great interest in conservation and helping everyday people find small practical ways to help the environment.After developing a love of wildlife conservation at a young age, Pete became passionately curious about the natural world. He set about on a lifelong mission to educate others and share his passion for wildlife conservation. By empowering others to understand their own obligation to protect the environment and by teaching people how contribute to preservation by implementing meaningful and easy to maintain personal behaviours, Pete has helped shape a generation of new thinking and has successfully shifted attitudes towards the environment. With specific expertise in customer service, public speaking, operations, finance and people leadership, Pete displays an incredible work ethic and a tenacious attitude. Away from work, Pete likes to spend time with his wife, son and extended family at their farm. As a lover of the great outdoors, Pete enjoys exploring mountain ranges either on foot or by motorbike. He also enjoys playing sports, including tennis, surfing and golf, or sharing a beer with mates while watching footy.
