Responsible for the maintenance of all production machinery in the factory. Machines including plasma and laser cutters, CNC milling machines, lathes and welding equipment. Set up a small electronics workshop greatly reducing the maintenance costs by largely removing the need to replace drives, power supplies, controllers and other such units by repairing all on site.

I moved into industrial electronics to work on industrial displays due to my background in TV repair. I soon showed a flair for all aspects of electronics in industry. Both my professionalism in dealing with customers and ability to diagnose machine faults with little information and no diagrams took me to the position of principal field engineer within 2 years. Responsible for the rapid detection and rectification of electronic assembly faults. Involved in the installation of the final inspection area of the PCB production line. Successfully drove down failure rates by implementing new operating procedures on the production line.

Primarily operating in the workshop repairing TV's and video recorders, both those owned by customers and those rented to customers from Parry's large stock. Also included some work installing and repairing sound and lighting systems in pubs and clubs. I expanded my knowledge of electronics and my confidence in dealing with public and professional clients.
