I provide legal and strategic advice to shipowners and other clients in the international shipping sector. Denmark is traditionally a shipping nation and is home to a number of the world's leading ship owners, all of whom are key clients. Clients I have been advising for up to 39 years.I am the senior partner of Gorrissen Federspiel’s Shipping/Offshore/Transportation group, which is a leading advisor within the maritime, offshore and transportation industry. Our maritime law practice dates back to the 1890s and the group has an outstanding position in Denmark with the strongest possible client base of Danish and international clients. We advise on English and Danish law. I advise clients across the whole spectrum of shipping-related matters, both on the transactional and the contentious sides. I regularly assist clients to resolve their disputes via litigation, international arbitration and mediation. I am very active in international arbitration. In 2023, I have rendered two international arbitration awards as a panel member. I am also a party representative on a number of ICC matters. In addition to my legal practice, I participate in the shipping sector in a number of other ways, including being a director on the boards of several international shipping companies. I am also a key adviser to various industry bodies, such as the Global Maritime Forum and the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network. These roles allow me to play a role in shaping the future of this industry: helping to secure a better, greener tomorrow.
