Peter Auvinen is the Chair of Miller Thomson.An experienced commercial litigation and insolvency practitioner with over 30 years of experience, Peter was previously the firm’s Office Managing Partner for the Toronto, Vaughan and Markham offices and a two-term member of the National Executive Committee.Elected Chair of Miller Thomson in July 2019, Peter leads the Executive Committee that oversees the firm’s strategic vision and ongoing operations.Under his previous leadership of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Miller Thomson was established as the only full service business law firm to be located in rapidly growing York Region. During this time, Peter was also a driving force behind the GTA offices’ aggressive recruitment efforts.Peter launched the firm’s global initiative focussed on the Nordic region. As the Nordic Group Leader, Peter has provided strategic counsel to businesses in that region as well as to their US-based operations whose foreign investment strategies include expansion into Canada. Peter is also the Honorary Consul to the Government of Finland in the GTA.
