My team and I kick-started and grew a financial wellbeing evidence base, embedding an evidence-led culture, including the creation of our widely-used Evaluation Toolkit and internationally-recognised Financial Wellbeing Evidence Hub. As a result, we were delighted to join the Cabinet Office's What Works Network. We have continued this work at the Money and Pensions Service as part of the new ten-year UK Strategy for Financial Wellbeing, as well as leading a programme of evaluation to ensure our organisation delivers and continuously improves effective services that help people around the UK.I have over 20 years' experience in designing, commissioning, managing and using evaluation and research - from small in-house evaluations to complex strategic studies - gaining a broad knowledge of evaluation approaches along the way. During this time I have grown and led teams of all sizes, and I aim to build a happy and productive working environment.Most of all, I want evaluation and evidence to be useful, to support learning and to help us have a greater impact for those we're seeking to help. The way we design and implement studies should always have this purpose in mind - but we also need to put dedicated resources in place to ensure the evidence we generate is shared and used.I am a keen supporter of the UK Evaluation Society, and am always happy to discuss evaluation, evidence and/or financial capability - whatever your role, wherever you work - just drop me a line.
