Dr. Turney is the founder of CT Global Solutions, Inc. (formerly Cost Technology, Inc.). He has been an innovator and thought leader in the field of performance management and analytics for over twenty years. His accomplishments span foundational work in activity-based costing (ABC) to designing today’s performance management solutions. Based on his developmental research with the field of ABC, Dr. Turney founded both Cost Technology and ABC Technologies (acquired by the SAS Institute) to provide the world’s first ABC models and ABC software. Dr. Turney is a frequent presenter to management groups and has published numerous works on management including the best-selling book Common Cents. Common Cents, first published in 1991, is a classic in the performance management field. The second edition of this best-seller was published by McGraw-Hill in June of 2005. He has written for the Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, Financial Executive, Cost Management and many other leading journals. In alignment with his leadership role at CT Global Solutions, Dr. Turney has been Adjunct Professor at the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia. He was previously the Tektronix Professor of Cost Management at Portland State University. He has held positions at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, the University of Waterloo, KPMG (now Bearing Point) and General Motors. Dr. Turney is a graduate of Bristol University (BA), and the University of Minnesota (MS & PhD). He is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).
