President, Bergin-Bryant, Inc. (1972-2006) Following four years of experience with General Foods and the E.R. Squibb Corporation, became a partner in family-owned food brokerage firm representing fund-raising and specialty food companies, as well as bakery ingredients. Responsible for advising clients on marketing strategy, budgeting the firm’s day-to-day operations, increasing sales and product introduction for principal brands and key accounts, managing sales and administrative personnel, and presenting products to customers. Girl Scout Cookie Brand: With Interbake Foods, developed Girl Scout Cookie brand in New England and New York State, and built fundraising arm of brokerage business from zero in 1983 to total sales of 6.5 million dollars per annum by 1993. Continued to develop fundraising and advise on marketing strategy particularly for the Girl Scouts of America until retirement in 2006. Salesman of the Year for Interbake food accounts (1986, 1988, 1990, 1993) Specialty Food Brands: Gained New England distribution for principal specialty food brands (including FFV, Osem/Nestle, Weston Bakeries, Lance /Vista, Wissotzky Tea, S Sens Tea, Purity Lunch Crackers, Café Vergnano, Mama’s Cookies, Dairy State Foods) for key accounts among New England’s largest grocery chains, such as Stop and Shop, Purity Supreme, Market Basket, Angelo’s, Shaw’s, Hannaford Brothers, Star Market, and Big Y Supermarkets.Bakery Ingredient Division: During 1970s developed bakery ingredient division selling to New England’s largest bakeries, including Nissen Baking Company, Country Kitchen Arnold Baking Company, LaPage bakeries, Freihofer's, the Windsor Muffin Company, and Rothstein Bakery Distributors (Dunkin Donuts main distributor). Sold this branch of the company in 1984.
