I made many presentations of all the different systems.The site manager approached me to become one of the 2 trainers for Radar2 , later I completed a TAFE training and assessment course (TAE40110) at central TAFE in Perth.I have been training Management, trades, administration and other techs in safety, procedural and technical training.I was promoted to Senior Tech in 2008, mentoring, training, supervising other technical staff as well as working on preventative maintenance, scheduled maintenance and breakdowns. On many occasions since 2005 I have been called upon to run the site in the absence of any managers, escorting high level visitors, tradesmen as well as keeping the site 98% availability target for the Commonwealth.Work Experience1. I started the WA operation from scratch, finding premises with office, warehousing and workshop. I had to employ all of my staff, administration, technicians, warehouse, sales manager and sales staff. I not only managed all of our operations but also managed the accounts of mayor clients. I reported to our Head office in Sydney, budgets (overheads and sales), sales, financials, weekly and monthly reports.I held the Security licence for our WA business and since I was previously a security technician if required I would also help out the installation team if they need another hand.The company went into receivership where I had to terminate everyone's employment including my own, I stayed on by myself working 6 months for the receivers until the business was on sold.

I managed the WA operation for the Lock and Safe division, overseeing all aspects including Administration, Technical Support, Stock Distribution, Warehousing and Sales.I set budgets for WA and exceeded them overall for the financial year.Initally Chubb moved operations from Myaree to Kewdale where I arranged all the aspects of the move without losing any operational time and still meeting budget. With the move the Admin staff and sales staff was replaced and I trained the new staff on the Pronto Accounting Package that was in use at Chubb only after 2 week after receiving training myself. The technical division had a service supervisor for the technical support of the 4 Locksmiths but I was responsible for the profitability of the service division who were required to travel all over WA.The sales area consisted of 3 salesmen of the Locks and Safe products.I was also required to set up dealerships for the distribution of our Safes and Locks and to also sell any speciality products like Vaults, detention equipment and Hotel Electronic locks.Head office decided to got to product managers instead of state managers, I was given a redundancy.

With Page Data Products I started the business in Perth from scratch.I had to find suitable premises, warehousing and workshop facilities, hire admin staff, warehouse staff, hire and train sales staff.I had to train all of the staff to use the systems that were required by the company and get the sales teams up to speed on the products we were selling and get them out finding customers.I also had to make weekly reports and daily financials and stock movement reports to head office.I developed budgets that were for the office, warehouse and other expenditure as well as making budgets on what we were to bring in in sales, and what each sales person target of sales were for the month and year.I also went out to the customers and followed up or made sales calls. Our range of products included:19” Racks, Fibre Optic cable and leads, Cat data cable and leads, Data connectors, patch panels, hubs, routers, switches. Everything needed for a Data Cable installer.I had hired a young unemployed person to help out in the warehouse. I had to privately reprimand him several times for being on his mobile, coming in late, not coming in at all and other things. I had to let him go when he made no attempt to improve after I gave him every opportunity to do so.

I started out as an external rep for Atkins Carlyle Electronics and I was in charge of sales of electronic components, tools, UPS, test equipment, TV Antennas, soldering systems etc… I was instrumental in convincing management to add data networking equipment to our products. I was promoted to Account Manager of Data Networking Equipment and Test Equipment. Our name changed to Atkins Electronics and I was promoted to Sales Manager of the Data and Test Equipment Division. I completed External and Internal sales of Computer Networking equipment, stock control, Quoting on projects, liaising with consultants and end users, supervising the pricing structure for Perth and regular sales reporting.
