I have my own consultancy business and am an Expert Witness with Berkeley Research Group (BRG).At BRG, my Expert Witness role focusses on the energy sector and M&A and private equity disputes.I was 22 years full-time at Rothschild, rising to Executive Vice-chairman. From 2012 to May 2020 I was a senior adviser to Rothschild, based in Singapore.I have had an active Board career, serving nine years as a Director of Vector Ltd, a listed utility in New Zealand, and was Founder Director of three aid funded companies supporting infrastructure-based economic development in Africa and Asia. I also acted as a senior advisor to a private equity fund .My principal focus at Rothschild was M&A in the power, utilities and infrastructure sector. I co-led Rothschild's global power team, working extensively in Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and Australasia. I have an international reputation as an expert in electricity sector restructuring and privatization. I led large global teams on high-profile politically-sensitive transactions. As well as M&A my skill set included advice on regulation, project finance, debt restructuring and equity capital markets.I have an economics PhD and as an economic consultant played a key part in designing the UK electricity market. I also worked in the nuclear sector and am still active on nuclear issues.
