I was the lead mixer on the KTLA Morning News, a highly-rated daily infotainment broadcast in Los Angeles and worldwide on the Tribune superstation. In addition to my technical and operational expertise, this format required intense focus combined with fluidity and a good sense of humor. One of my innovations was the creative use of sound effects to highlight or contribute to the interplay of the cast-members. My mixing duties included two hours of news every weeknight, plus pre-game and half-time shows for Lakers basketball, and highly acclaimed Prime 9 News Special Reports. We won Golden Mike awards for coverage of the OJ Simpson Trial, the Malibu Fires, Operation Desert Storm, and the LA Riots.Relief Master Control Operator.
