Dr. Peter Borden has invented and brought to market multiple products based on optical innovations. Currently he focuses on developing diagnostic systems and devices to enhance visionn at Jasper Ridge Inc., where he is President. Previously he pioneered optical metrology and photovoltaics at Applied Materials where he was a Distinguished MTS. Earlier he was co-Founder, CTO and a BOD member at Boxer Cross, a semiconductor metrology company, acquired by Applied Materials (AMAT:NASDAQ). He previously co-founded and was CTO and a BOD member at High Yield Technology (HYT), a pioneer of in-situ monitoring and interferometric metrology for IC manufacturing. HYT was acquired by Pacific Scientific, now Danaher (DHR:NYSE). Earlier he led a group at Varian developing concentrator photovoltaics, inventing optical approaches used today. He also designed task lighting as an advisor to Knoll International.Dr. Borden earned Ph.D. and MS degrees in Applied Physics from Stanford University and BS degrees in Physics and EE from MIT, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He is the author of over 80 publications and 75 patents.
