My role includes working with a panel of brokers and developing strong relationships within the South West Region region, from Oxfordshire along the M40 into Northwest London and South West. I have built relationships with brokers by using both my broking and insurer experiences, and giving them advice on general broking, not just with PowerPlace. I like to think that I have also demonstrated to my brokers that I am totally impartial as to where business is placed on our system, something that a lot of brokers find reassuring. My role is to work with brokers to drive GWP being placed via the PowerPlace electronic trading platform. This involves looking at brokers books of business, and identifying where books of business can be moved from insurer to insurer to secure best earning for the broker, whilst at the same time streamlining their business activities, and creating time efficiencies to allow brokers to concentrate on their larger clients. My role also involves negotiating commission levels with brokers, helping them to increase their bottom lines, but at the same time ensuring that PowerPlace keeps within profitable margins. A key part of my role is breaking down the barriers that non trading brokers have with PowerPlace, and overcoming the issues that will encourage them to trade on the system.I also have to train new users on the use of the platform, and deal with any day to day issues that they may have, such as chasing insurers or dealing with glitches in the system, ensuring that problems are reported via the correct channels.

I joined Cherwell Insurance in 2006, which was then aquired by The Jelpf Group in 2007. My role was as a commercial account hanlder, dealing with renewals, mid term adjustments, and claims on behalf of commercial account executives. I also deal with SME new business enquiries and in 2010 was asked to look afther and develop the whole SME book for the branch (cases under £5,000K). This involved upselling and cross selling of new products. Within my time at Jelf, I became a Super User on Acturis, being involved in the provision of staff training, and launching and testing of full cycle prodcuts.

Dealing mainly with the motor trade account, my rol was to act as a main point of contact for the AVRO recovery scheme, dealing with polciy queires, mid term adjustments and renewals. My role also included dealing with our courier scheme dealing with goods in transit, fleet and liabilities.
