Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) Agriculture Transformation Grant. 3 Year Pilot Program (https://www.dalberg.com/our-experience/transforming-public-sector-agriculture-interventions-tanzania). I was a Special Advisor on Staff Culture/Behavior/Mindset/Attitude/Change Management/Transformation. As a change agent, I led change management through the use of program management skills gained for the previous 5 years in 2 USAID programs (1 a cooperative agreement, 1 contract) in 3 international development organizations (2 NGOs, 1 Company) by diagnosing systemic problems; seeking a consensus on solutions, plans and strategies (PRIORITIZATION); improving performance management (DISCIPLINE OF IMPLEMENTATION); strengthening accountability mechanisms and establishing/improving reward system (ACCOUNTABILITY); this included assessing, training, coaching and mentoring government counterparts to develop and use the program management skills and tools to attain KPIs in agriculture programs. US $ 14.5 million.Position Level and Type: Senior and ProfessionalReported to: Chief of Party/Environmental Enterprise Development SpecialistCoordinated with: DCOP/Resources Rights, Governance, and Policy Reform Specialist, Biodiversity Conservation Specialist, Wildlife Protection Specialist, Institutional Strengthening Specialist, Capacity Building Specialist, M/E & GIS Specialist, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Specialist and Grants ManagerDuties: 1) Supported the growth and development of conservation (C), environmentally friendly (EF) and nature resource based (NB) enterprises (E) like non-timber forest products such as honey, coffee, other food commodities and handicrafts. 2) Supported establishment and improvement of the effectiveness of Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOS) focused on increased access to credit and financing for establishment of enterprises. 3) Assisted in identifying and characterizing livelihoods that encourage people to be sound stewards of their environmental assets and which strengthens the economic constituency for local conservation practices.4) Worked to increase economic gains from WMA (Wildlife Management Areas) activities overall, with specific emphasis on increasing economic gains at the household level, with a focus on women and youth.5) Increased economic opportunities for revenue generation within targeted landscapes, appropriate management of those revenues to support landscape management, and to distribute benefits to people living within the landscape. USAID intends for these results to be measured at both the landscape (often the WMA) and household level.6) Fostered efforts with communities outside the WMA network as well in order to increase the area of land under sustainable management and economic opportunity.

US $ 270,000Position Level and Type: Junior and ProfessionalReported to: Administratively (Project Coordinator) and Programmatically/Technically (Economic Strengthening Technical Advisor)Coordinated with: M & E Officer, CP & GVB Officer and SW OfficerAllamano - a FBO/CSO and was one of the then 19 sub-grantees of Africare for Pamoja Tuwalee (PT) program at Iringa Municipal in Iringa Region (part of the four regions - others are Njombe, Dodoma and Singida in the Central Zone; where Africare was a Prime Partner of USAID/PEPFAR funded PT program)Main duties: i. Mobilized the MVC caregivers through village, street and ward government authorities to form SILC (Savings and Lending) and IGA (Income Generating Activities) groups.ii. Trained and mentored them in entrepreneurship and specific livelihoods such as poultry so that they improved their economic status from vulnerability to resilience proven by increased access of services for MVC.iii. Involved with DAI-IMARISHA baseline Household Economic Assessment which determined the type and level of ES interventionKey Achievements: i. 92 total (82 new, during my tenure) SILC and hundreds of individual IGA groups with over 2767 (Male 404, Female 2363) Household Caregivers with cumulative savings net worth of about US$ 382,660 by March 30, 2013.ii. 1428 MVC were supported through their caregivers and community with food, school fees and scholastic materials by March 30, 2013.iii. Improved old businesses and newly established ventures of poultry, farms, gardens, businesses and mushroom by March 30, 2013.iv. Enabled our organization to win the first round of Concept Notes for DAI IMARISHA Innovation Fund for grant in Economic Strengthening
