Broker Sales ManagerFirst Utility Mar 2010 - Dec 2013Within the role of Broker Sales Manager at First Utility I was responsible for promoting First Utility and their Smart Metering added value service solution through small to major Utility Brokers and Consultants within the NHH SME sector. This involved strategically prospecting and building new commercial relationships whilst developing and re-building existing relationships for primarily new business and customer retention. The role required a significant combination of skill and experience in key areas such as new business sales, technical sales (interpretation of regulation & legislation, raw data & product), relationship management (internal & external), leadership, business development, customer service and account management (direct and indirect).With a restricted sales, product and service funnel compared to competitors, and within a commodity market including the major suppliers it was a challenging, multi-tasking, fast-paced and very rewarding role. One that I enjoyed immensely, have made some very close long term relationships in, had been nominated for The National Sales awards in and professionally very pleased to have had some considerable success in. Prior to my departure at the end of December I had increased First Utility’s southern portfolio by just over ten times whilst achieving above profit margin targets. This was an increase of 1072% when comparing like for like to the previous three years (4 predecessors) and had grown their total Nhh portfolio by over 45% by bringing the number of accounts in the South to the same level of the North (3 yrs - S Vrs. 6 yrs - N). I had set-up 2014 for more significant growth with new partners pre-engaged, before First Utility took the decision to double down in the residential sector and become Shell Energy. -
