I was assigned to work as a registration assistant at the COVID-19 Vaccine Center set up at City College of San Francisco. I was assigned as a Disaster Service Worker by virtue of my regular employment at the San Francisco Public Library. I verified appointments and identification documents for incoming vaccination patients, and explained rules and procedures to them. I was able to use my database abilities to verify and correct patient information. I also used my Spanish language skills to help patients for whom English was not a first language.

As a City of San Francisco Disaster Service Worker, I helped distribute groceries to the general public as part of the City's response to the Coronavirus Pandemic. I worked at the Food Bank Warehouse on Potrero Hill, and in various Pop-Up Pantries across the City. I had the opportunity to use my Spanish Language skills in communicating with Patrons about the requirements for registration at the Food Bank, and in registering new patrons into the Food Bank Database.
