As part of the Investment Analyst Program in the Endowments and Foundation practice, I am a member of the client-side investment team, where I produce comprehensive portfolio review and recommendation materials for investment committee and board meetings. My work involves conducting thorough analyses of manager performance, asset allocation, portfolio stress testing, spending patterns, peer comparisons, fee assessments, and administrative reviews, all of which contribute to facilitating well-informed decision-making for clients. Additionally, I engineer and maintain sophisticated financial models to assess a wide range of market and portfolio conditions. Through the use of advanced quantitative analysis, I support portfolio scenario planning and provide actionable insights to enhance investment strategies. Additionally, I conduct comprehensive evaluations of asset managers and emerging investment strategies, regularly engaging in meetings with investment managers across public and private asset classes to assess performance and identify opportunities for strategic optimization.

During my 10-week internship program at Western Asset Management in New York City, I worked for the Client Services and Marketing department on the liquidity desk. One of my key deliverables was to develop an analysis focused on the firm’s major competitors. In doing so, I researched, tracked, and analyzed the business structures and liquidity fund performances of top asset managers using SEC filings and data reporting portals. At the end of the program, I presented my findings to senior management. I also produced and distributed daily reports to executives that evaluated the performance rankings of Western Asset’s liquidity funds relative to other industry leaders. With the firm’s implementation of a new transaction reporting system, my ongoing responsibilities were to support client needs and requests each day. Tax document management and prospect data restructuring were among many other assignments that I completed during the course of my employment.

Recently acquired by Franklin Templeton, O’Shaughnessy Asset Management is a quantitative money management firm in Stamford, CT. As a Client Services and Sales intern, I researched and tracked prospect metrics to update and streamline the firm’s database during this 10-week program. With the introduction of a custom indexing technology platform for separately managed accounts, the Sales team was interested in improving prospecting efforts. To support that aim, I scraped social media sites, including Twitter and LinkedIn, identifying potential leads and examining their performances. In addition, I participated in client calls and was trained in sales techniques and the importance of maintaining strong business relationships.

I was hired by Blue Elephant, an asset manager in the private credit space, at the recommendation of Chair of Hackley Computer Science Department. I supported analyses using a variety of algorithms to determine the outcomes of current and future loans. I verified and edit the company’s data sets using the programming language, Python. I programmed a system that tracks each loan in Blue Elephant’s portfolio daily to determine whether each loan is current or overdue; the system creates a visual representation of the data, which allows the analysts at Blue Elephant to determine the firm’s action plan for each loan.
