Investment partner in a private company developing a marina in a naturally sheltered deep all weather access bay in North Lombok, Indonesia. Planning permission for a 200 berth marine within six hectares of sea was granted by the Ministry in Jakarta in 2009 when 100 boats of Sail Indonesia first moored and anchored in the bay. With the marina construction licence issued in January 2011 a 17 room hotel, beachside café and 300 person capacity Meeting Hall was completed by December 2011. Serviced floating berths for 8 vessels and additional moorings, as stage one, have been in use since early 2012.Strongly anchored moorings for twenty vessels are provided in the mooring basis with depths from 6m to 20m.A slipway was installed in 2018 together with the purchase and import from The Netherlands of a Roodberg hydraulic submersible trailer. This is powered by a 4WD John Deere 7525 tractor. There is hardstand storage for 45 boats. This haul facility is the only one equipped with such machinery between Darwin & Malaysia.The port is an accredited ENTRY EXIT facility for private yachts with full CIQP facilities (Customs Immigration Quarantine Port)

With over 30 years' experience in the mining industry in SE Asia and Australia, Peter has developed a specialisation in alluvial mining from exploration methods through development of new mines to production operations. Peter speaks Thai and Indonesian fluently.

Alcon Limited was formed in 1977 by Ken Connell with a Bangkok base. Mineral industry consultants primarily involved in exploration and development of alluvial properties with an emphasis on tin and gold. First joined Alcon Limited in 1980 as a junior partner involved in field supervision testing an alluvial gold deposit by mecha banka drills and pitting in North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Bangkok

Based in Bangkok as Country Manager, Thailand, of Memthai Limited with a brief to explore or acquire and develop alluvial mining areas in South East Asia for tin, gold and gemstones. This involved work in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Myanmar and also Venezuela. One of the most interesting areas repeatedly visited was for alluvial gold associated with drainages of the River Ca in Nghe Tinh Province of Vietnam from early 1989 when Vietnam first opened thee doors to foreign investment, through 1990.

Kasongan, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia

In charge of overall project development from bulk testing and late feasibility stage through to production of a two dredge and floating plant operation for alluvial gold and by-product zircon on a tributary of the Katingan River in what was then a remote area fully dependent on river transport.
