Key responsibilities:• Deliver special projects for Health and Lifestyle Services in the City of Melville• Planning for future recreation/leisure facilities and service provision• Project management • Develop business cases• Develop, review and evaluate tenders and large contract documents for the LeisureFit Centres and community recreation• Develop and Coordinate stakeholder relationship management plans/strategies• Manage internal project reference groups• Meet with external stakeholders e.g. Sporting clubs• Prepare & present reports for Council and Executive as required• Develop project scopes and consultant briefs• Engage consultants and manage the consultants responsibilities throughout projects• Policy and procedure development, implementation and review• Prepare and monitor budgets and develop budget requests.• Provide high level support to managers & directors within the city that contribute to council’s decisions.• Act as Manager Health & Lifestyle Services as required

Leisurefit Melville

• Responsible for 3 portfolio areas (Health & Fitness, Sports/Gymbakids/Creche & centre operations) across LeisureFit Centres (2 Leisure Facilities – LeisureFit Melville & LeisureFit Booragoon) with over 100 staff.• Development and management of an operating Budget in excess of $3.91m • Staff development, training, mentoring, motivating. • Leading a large team towards achieving objectives outlined in business and strategic plans• Providing effective and efficient leadership• Responsible for creating a positive work environment and culture.• Build good relationships with staff, customers, contractors, and other cross-organisational staff.• Action planning and goal/KPI setting with Program Supervisors and alsopreparing financial reports & budgets. • Development of strategic plans, business plans/cases and marketing plans that result in business improvement, sustainability.• Manage risks as per the City’s Integrated Risk Management Process.• Prepare strategic business cases and develop innovative solutions to enable continual improvement as part of the project management framework.• Research, develop, implement and evaluate cost effective and sustainable programs that cater for the community as part of overall project management.• Prepare consultant briefs, specifications and contract management with tender processes.• Building Maintenance responsibilities - manage entire facility, liaising with contractors, other City staff and responsible for the development & implementation of maintenance schedules.• Implement utility conservation strategies (sustainability measures).• Performance Management & human resource management.• Recruitment, selection and induction of new staff including appointing Program Team Leaders.• Work with key stakeholders and community groups & manage their interests and forge new synergies and partnerships with other businesses/organisations.• Develop operating policies and procedures
