Lead the procurement and contract management functions of a team of contract coordinators and parks professionals in the provision of contracted parks service delivery and management of parks assets to best practice standards.• Provide strategic procurement leadership across the Parks Contract Team. Manage the development and coordination of Contract Management Plans, monitor service delivery trends and establish appropriate service benchmarks.• Deliver strong contract and asset management including asset management planning, contract administration and management of financials, relationships, and performance. Prepare forecast, reports and manage expenditure to ensure value for money outcomes ate delivered within specified budgets. • Identify, develop and implement business improvements, procedures, work systems, quality controls, team goals and priorities to streamline activities and improve business efficiencies• Provide high quality leadership and management to staff in accordance with the organisation’s policies and procedures.

Management and coordination of the City’s parks contracted service delivery and parks assets, ensuring effective work systems and procedures to deliver optimum performance from service providers in delivering high quality park management.• The Contract Manager for the Parks and Open Space Maintenance Services Contract,one of the City’s top ten strategic contracts. • Ensure contracts are effectively planned, designed, procured, managed and delivered at the highest possible quality standards, using best practice contract and asset management principles • Contribute to planning, implementation, and delivery of the parks and open space program of the City’s Sustainable Sydney 2030/2050 Strategy, Greening Sydney Plan and Asset Management Plans. • Develop specifications, technical investigations, contracts, procedures and other service delivery arrangements for park assets and operations. • Effectively collect and analyse data using City tools and systems.

Ensure through park auditing and inspections that all the City’s parks, open spaces and associated assets are safe, clean, well presented to best practice standards and ensure they meet the expectations of City residents, workers and visitors.• Inspect, audit, monitor and review services delivered under contracts and other service delivery arrangements to ensure that services are consistent with specified levels, standards and requirements and that they meet customer expectations.• To update and maintain the City’s Corporate Asset Management System (CAMS) for park and open space infrastructure.

Lead the implementation of Urban Ecology Strategic Action Plan to ensure that the City of Sydney demonstrates environmental leadership in urban ecology. The role is to prioritise, protect, conserve and enhance native flora and fauna in the City of Sydney local government area and engage staff and the community in these activities.• Implement strategies, programs and actions that contribute to best practice environmental performance of the Council and the community within the local government area.• Project manage a range of urban ecology strategies and programs, including identification of project milestones, timeframes for delivery, budget requirements and project risks.• To provide high quality urban ecology strategic support and advice to other relevant business units within Council.

Supervise, train and mentor staff, contractors and volunteers to deliver best practice horticulture and bush regeneration services to Council and the community in line with documented service specifications. • Effectively oversee all bush care and land management activities in Sydney Park –the City’s largest open space.• Implementing strategies outlined in the Bush Restoration Management Plan, Urban Ecology Strategic Action Plan and the Sydney Park Plan of Management• Coordinate, supervise and train staff, contractors and volunteers to ensure the delivery of best value parks, bush regeneration and horticultural services
