UGL Infrastructure Kwinana HEGT Project Aug 2011 – May 2012Permit to Work Coordinator Issue, prepare, and manage the timing of execution of the PTW’s throughout the construction to avoid interference and ensure appropriate implementation through the commissioning phase at the Verve HEGT.Achievements: Effectively coordinated the 200 MW’s Power station, consisting of 2 LMS 100 GE gas turbines and associated electrical, cooling water equipment, and auxiliaries.

 Ensured the PTW’s were prepared and permitted in a timely, correct manner from the initial construction to the commissioning phase.  Responsible for managing the power station, consisting of 7 Siemens gas turbines, 6 heat recovery steam generators, auxiliaries, and other associated electrical equipment.Key Achievements: Managed all PTW’s during commissioning of Gas turbines, HRSG and steam Turbines at the 450 MW’s Power Station utilizing effective management skills and developed understanding of safety and equipment involved in the Power Station.

Austrian Energy and Environment May 2010 – Apr 2011 Permit to Work Coordinator Directed and controlled the activities of the commissioning procedures. Managed, coordinated, arranged and monitored the issue of all excavation permits for underground services. Efficiently prepared and issued construction permits to work for the installation of construction power distribution boards.Key Achievements: Ensured all AE&E Engineering personnel adhere to commissioning procedures in regards to the balance of plant and the process from unit initiation to completion.

Alcoa Australia Jul 2008 – May 2010 Power House/Water Treatment Plant Operator Monitored the power station (cogen) and water treatment by maintaining the operation of such equipment as boilers, pumps, water softeners and heaters, and regulating the water level in boilers and fuel supply. Provided standard work instructions and effective training in the proper methods and processes necessary for GT and HRSG start up, shut down, and other major plant movements. Performed safety inspections and routine maintenance equipment used. Responsible for vibration and condition monitoring of GT and HRSG auxiliary plant. Key Achievements: – Operated 280MW power station as well as key liaison with plant owners, production engineers, production coordinators and maintenance crews to ensure plant is kept running efficiently and any repairs are carried out in a timely manner with minimal impact on safety and production.

IHI Australia LTD Oct 2007 – Jan 2008 Permit to Work Mechanical/Electrical Isolations Officer Efficiently organized contractors’ construction activities and inspection methods.  Ensured all personnel adhere to standard hand-over procedures on balance of plant. Oversaw completed work quality in accordance to the specifications. Key Achievements: Coordinated strategic implementation of all IHI commissioning procedures.

BHP Billiton Pty Ltd Mar 2007 – Oct 2007 Permit to Work Mechanical/Electrical Isolations Officer Coordinated PTW’s for maintenance crews to ensure plant is isolated efficiently.Key Achievements: Provided inspections over repairs to ensure appropriate completion with minimal impact on safety and production.

Downer Engineering Aug 2006 – Mar 2007 Lead Operations/Start-Up Supervisor & Permit to Work Mechanical/Electrical Isolations Officer Efficiently handled turnover packages, punch lists, and schedules, and deliver accurate and detailed testing procedures and reports. Facilitated the safety and clearance tagging procedures. Handled the DCS control systems, as well as tested the pre-commissioning functions of all plant mechanical systems.  Provided operational insight on startup and commissioning water, gas fuel, feed water, and steam systems.Key Achievements: Successfully supervised the pre-commissioning and commissioning phases of the Pinjarra Cogen unit 1, 140 MW’s Mitsubushi model 701Da gas turbine, and the 420 Ton/hr Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG).

Alcoa Australia May 2006 – Aug 2006 Power House Shift Coordinator Conducted one-on-one comprehensive procedural training for all operations staff.  Exceedingly handled all customer requirements and issues. Key Achievements: Created and implemented standard operational procedures and training documents for all personnel dedicated to the operational functions of the Pinjarra’s newest GT/HRSG.

Involved in the pre-commissioning and commissioning of the Collie 320 MW power station. Operational duties included monitoring of the 996 ton/Hr Babcock Hitachi K type RBC natural circulation, 17.5 Mpa, 5400C steam/reheat, oil and coal fired boiler, ABB Steam Turbine and auxiliary equipment. Other commissioning activities included ash/dust plant, coal handling plant, diesel generator, water treatment plant, saline water disposal plant and electrical switchgear. Collie Power station is a state-of-the-art, modern power plant, engineered to operate with high efficiency and to meet safety requirements and environmental regulations. Process control is a screen-based system. A highly integrated system using ABB’s procontrol interface from the central control room DCS. Integrated monitoring giving comprehensive alarm, control and performance monitoring. Constant liaison with plant owners, production engineer, production coordinator and maintenance crews to ensure plant is kept running efficiently and any repairs are carried out in a timely manner with minimal impact on safety and production.

Completed and passed Engineering Maths A & B, Science, Engineering computing, Writing technical documents, Intro strength of materials, Introductory dynamics, Statics, Control concepts, Communications & industrial relations, Occupational health and safety, Materials handling, Fluid mechanics, Advanced dynamics, Marine thermodynamics 1, Marine electrotechnology 1and Marine electrotechnology 2 and Marine thermodynamics 2. Trained also in plant specifics, both DCS (Distributed control system) and operations.
