Manage portfolio of Large Capital Phosphogypsum Stack (Gypstack) Projects for the North America Business (NAB). This includes direct oversight and management of the Gypstack capital project teams located at multiple facilities. Ensure that all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) systems and process are in place and appropriate to manage contractor and employee workforce. Responsible for overseeing and guiding the design, execution, commissioning, and start-up of major capital projects across the NAB (US and Canada). Work closely with the leadership of Capital Projects, executive management, Operations Managers, Maintenance Managers, Process Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, outside engineering firms, contractors, and vendors, to provide guidance and support in the development and execution of capital projects. Ensure that the Mosaic capital management process is followed throughout project(s) life-cycle.

Manage portfolio of civil capital projects with a value of more than $125M. Projects are managed concurrently from inception through start-up including (not limited to): Business justifications, scope development, cost estimates, budgets and schedules. Identify changes and develop appropriate documentation to communicate these changes to the project team. Prepare reports and/or make presentations to management regarding items such as project scheduling, costs and status. Ensure that the Mosaic capital management process is followed throughout project(s) life-cycle. Facilitate the development and review of all engineering documentation and ensure that Mosaic’s design standards and specifications are followed. Manage contractor activities as they pertain to all stages of engineering and construction. Follow and enforce Mosaic’s procedures, standards and practices for these activities. Promote Mosaic’s safety culture in all activities, particularly with respect to contractor work. Provide mentoring and guidance for other engineers to ensure successful project execution.

Manage projects from initiation through delivery ensuring completion of the project on schedule and within budget constraints. Work with internal/ external stakeholders to gather business requirements and coordinate project plans. Identify project scope, develop implementation plan, engage key stakeholders, define and coordinate activities, communicate changes and progress, build commitment, overcome resistance and lead project teams. Evaluate project risks, develop contingency plans, and quickly respond to changes in risk as the project progresses. Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner, set clear expectations, inspire and motivate others to perform well. Mentor other project managers and leaders in the concepts of the project management standards.

Provide Civil, Structural, and Architectural engineering support on all site capital and expense projects from conceptual design phase through construction. Projects range up to $350MM. Project manager on small site capital and expense projects from initiation through design, construction and close out. Projects range up to $650K. Program manager for site Long Range Planned Maintenance program which utilizes a third party database to determine life expectancy of site assets to forecast asset replacement expenditure and priorities. Provide technical expertise as site Fire Prevention and Life Safety engineer to ensure compliance with all applicable fire codes, Building Codes and standards. Act as liaison between site and FM Global (insurance provider) to maintain site compliance with FM Global engineering standards and to manage the vendor relationship. Act as liaison with West Greenwich Building Officials and Fire Marshal to coordinate site permitting activities, ensure compliance with building and fire code requirements and to manage the site relationship.

Promote structural engineering products to Top Architectural Firms throughout the east coast. Conduct one hour “Lunch and Learn” Presentations promoting product line to architectural firms. Presentations are AIA-HSW accredited. Develop different promotional methods to be implemented by company. Provide field support during construction to ensure that product installation met all applicable requirements. Act as liaison between architects designing our product into project design and CENTRIA engineering and estimating departments.

Supervise Aker Kvaerner engineers and Amgen site personnel to ensure compliance with Aker Kvaerner standards. Coordinate Aker Kvaerner field office document control. Perform site walk-through to ensure compliance with contract documents. Resolve technical issues in a team environment.
