I began my professional career in 1998 when I attended the Harry Wendelstedt School for Professional Umpires. At this school I learned how to umpire professional baseball. This school provided me an opportunity to be selected to attend an advanced placement course with a chance to umpire in Minor League Baseball. After the advanced placement course I was selected for a job in professional baseball. I returned to the Harry Wendelstedt School for Umpires a year later as an instructor where I was employed for ten years. After beginning a career in professional baseball I umpired in the following professional leagues: Arizona League (Rookie), Pioneer League (Short Season Rookie), Florida State League (A Ball), Texas League (AA Ball), International League (AAA), and the Pacific Coast League (AAA). I was selected for playoff and All-Star game assignments at multiple levels. I also was assigned to the Arizona Fall League, Puerto Rico Winter League, and umpired the first ever World Baseball Classic in Tokyo, Japan. In September 2005, I worked my first ever game at the Major League Baseball level in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2008, I began my journey as a Law Enforcement Professional with the Chico Police Department. Since joining the Police Department I have held assignments such as Patrol Officer, Crime Scene Investigator, Hostage Negotiator, K-9 Agitator, Honor Guard, Downtown Patrol Officer, Detective, and School Resource Officer. In 2021 I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and in 2024 I was promoted to Lieutenant. I was also the Chico Police Officers' Association President from 2013-2017. In 2015, I was selected as the Chico Police Departments Officer of the Year by my peers. In 2015, I was voted to sit on the Board of Directors for the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC).In 2015, I was asked to sit on the Board of Directors for the Northern California Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS). COPS is an organization that assists Law Enforcement families after tragedy strike. When a Police Officer is killed in the line of duty their families are left to pick up the pieces. This is where COPS comes in and assists these families in rebuilding their lives after their loved one is killed.In 2022 I was honored to be elected by the people of District 2 as their next Butte County Supervisor. I was officially sworn in January 2023 and proud to continue to serve the people of Butte County for 4 years.
