I love building brands, but I hate selling myself. Kiwis were raised to shy away from saying good things about themselves. I guess we're terrible at interviews :) But LinkedIn wouldn't be complete without some good'ol self-promotion, so here are a few things about me and my work:1) I love B2B marketing and comms, it's such a rush - and I got to work with some incredible leaders with amazing stories to tell. I've done projects with some mesmerizing global Fortune 500 CEO's, world leaders, and celebs. Each has helped me to grow my skills and expertise. 2) I'm a digital native who started writing emails while in kindergarten way back in the very early 90s, mostly to complain to TV channels about the timing of my favorite cartoons. Talk about early adopter.. ;) PS - they would post me physical letters in response.3) I created my first social media and influencer marketing campaign in 2008 on Facebook to promote a Social Enterprise I was volunteering for - only 6 months after "Facebook Pages" were invented (and a year before there was even a Facebook like button!). Most brands didn't start exploring social media marketing until 2010, so I like to think I am a pioneer. 4) I believe emotions (psychology) play the biggest role in marketing. I studied Creative Writing, Literature, and History as a way to unbox complex arguments and communicate them effectively. History always repeats itself, so you can always get your next big idea from the past and understand how to analyze a situation the best. 5) The most fun part about working in marketing is seeing an idea come to life and be loved by people. I helped create and launch FOREO which is now a top 10 selling beauty product worldwide, led AIESEC Cambodia to become such a huge impact on social development in the nation that it was awarded the UBS global leadership award, and launched Deloitte University Asia-Pacific which has nurtured a generation of top regional leaders.
