Communications Manager
CurrentKey Responsibilities • Deputise for Corporate Affairs Director as communications advisor to Chief Executive, Executive Committee and Board and manage and lead Communications Unit to deliver internal and external strategy• Responsible for ni water internet, niwater.com, intranet & social media - including facebook & twitter • Develop and implement internal communications strategy embracing and developing appropriate channels, events etc to align messages and the organisation with the business objectives• Manage defined media relations and press enquiries and deal with media including out of hours as a member of the major incident team • Develop and implement evaluation and monitoring methods to measure communication effectiveness• Maintain awareness of political landscape and manage defined media relations activities with key stakeholders • Support and champion corporate social responsibility activities Key achievements • Developed, delivered and maintained all current internal communication channels including staff magazine, intranet, weekly briefing document, two weekly broadcast briefings, team talk and communications kiosks• Developed and delivered numerous award winning internal communications campaigns – including Executive Team Visibility campaign, CSR 'Cares Challenge' staff volunteering programme and Employee Engagement campaign to support business transformation• Successfully managed media and stakeholder relations and queries for several major incidents including major freeze thaw event, major road collapse and loss of water (1000’s of homes)• Proactively managed stakeholder relations for various key business activities including PC10 Price Control • Lead and developed internal communications team into a high performing unit.• Developed revised volunteering policy and Corporate Social Responsibility strategy• Day to day manager of Communications Unit budget on behalf of Corporate Affairs Director
