From the age of 18 I literally had no idea what my career aspirations were going to be. at Birmingham University I studied Environmental Geoscience. From their it opened an avenue to refine my knowledge at University College of London where I studied Geophysical Hazards. My then aspiration was to work in the natural hazard world, however opportunities were limited and would have resulted in relocation. That was fine but moving to another country, again fine, but being right at the bottom of the pile was not the right decision with limited experience. Therefore, it led me to study at Manchester University in Geotechnical Engineering. With a job to start, I didn’t feel comfortable. With all my knowledge I wanted to progress into a career which was mentally tough, would use my knowledge, if possible, but physical. The Royal Engineers in the British Army became a reality. I spent 6 years in the Armed Forces, serving in Afghanistan. Right or wrong when I made the decision to leave it was political based. However, I wanted to transition into a career that would use my subject knowledge, personal experiences and military experience. Therefore, teaching was that in geography. I have since been a teacher for 7 years. The next adventure is into the fitness world, where I plan on starting my business up using every aspect of my experience to get it right
