I like reading to kids. Along with singing, chanting, dancing with them and their parents. My present model of storytime is what I call "endorphin rich." I figure, if kids and parents/caregivers have an endorphin rich experience at storytime, they will grow up loving reading and the library. In the business, we call this "print motivation."I enjoy playing music. That's why I started working the guitar into my storytimes. I also play bass, and have played in a number of bands over the years. Played in bars. Opened for second tier acts. Now that I am retired, I have 3 part time jobs. I work in a model train store, at the library, and at my Quaker Meeting. All in service to children, and the greater good. At Portland State I studied accounting. I still enjoy finance, although my mind for details was never quite auditor grade. Thank goodness I decided I wanted to do work that was congruent with my Quaker values.
