excavates, cleans, maintains and prepares gas mains throughout the city of Philadelphia. This position is 100% outdoors and 100% shift work. You must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and must be available to work any shift including nights, weekends and holidays. Overtime is mandatory.The Distribution Worker must be able to lift and manipulate heavy equipment such as jackhammers, shovels, etc. Operate various pnuematic tools.Manually excavate with short handle and long handle shovels.Apply protective wraps to gas mains and service pipes.Use scalers and files to clean and prepare gas mains and services for additions and replacements.Must be capable to perform heavy lifting associated with gas main construction and maintenance.
