I am currently the financial controller at Good Herdsmen the largest organic beef processing company in British Isles dealing with FMCG.Key responsibilities include:• Management of Month end process to provide accurate Monthly financial accounts and associated reporting packs within Group deadlines. Preparation and review of Monthly Balance sheet file and analytical review of P&L. Produce management accounting information and reports for the local site and divisional senior management team to highlight key business and operational control issues.• Management of Weekly Accounts process to minimise Weekly to Monthly differences and provide explanations for any significant stock gains/losses.• Maintain and review stock valuations and monitor stock levels to target. Review weekly yields of beef and lamb production• Preparation of forecasts and annual budget.• Preparation of annual statutory accounts and review of annual corporation tax returns.• Liaising with internal and external auditors for system and statutory audits. Point of contact for external Financial and Tax auditors.• Management and mentoring of local site finance and administration team of 5 people.• Overview of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process. Ensure Invoicing is accurate and next day invoicing is achieved. Manage working capital for the company.• Human Resources overview and support of HR function on site/ processing of weekly and monthly payroll• Contribute to Capital Expenditure process and maintain Fixed Assets register and associated schedules.• Maintain an appropriate control environment

I was seconded to internal audit for 8 months conducting audits of systems and internal controls throughout a number of sites in Ireland, the UK, Poland as well as offices in Italy and Spain. Tasks included audits of key systems identifying weaknesses and making recommendations to site management. I also performed high level reviews of monthly balance sheet and coached and mentored trainees.

Pniewy Poland

ABP acquired a new plant in Poland in early 2011 and I was part of the team of Irish staff seconded to this site to establish controls and systems in line with Group policy. Tasks included producing weekly and monthly accounts in line with deadlines, producing monthly balance sheet files reconciling all key accounts, training of local Polish finance and administration staff on the groups operating and financial systems. I also engaged with local professional services to ensure compliance with Polish tax and accounting laws.

(Abp Ireland) July 2010 To April 2011:

I worked at ABP sites in Cahir and Waterford during this period. My tasks included production of monthly and weekly accounts; review of weekly labour reports; production of job costing; liaising with internal and external auditors, submission of monthly tax returns VAT/PAYE/RCT, preparation of monthly payroll and review of weekly payroll; analysis of monthly P&L and completion of balance sheet files.

Dublin

I started with KPMG on internship in Summer 2005 prior to finishing my final year in college. In October 2006 I returned to the same department working on various audits on clients in Manufacturing Retail and Distribution businesses. My role included preparing audit planning and strategy documents; assessing key controls and systems of audit clients; drafting of management letter points and present audit findings, reporting to audit managers and partners any significant audit issues identified during audits. As an audit senior I lead the engagement team to complete each audit and review the work of assistants and provide on job coaching for junior and semi seniors on my audit team. I also advised audit clients regarding accounting treatment including accounting adjustments as well as assisting them in drafting the Financial Statements to completion as well as liaising with tax department on providing information for tax audits.

Achieved a 1.1 Honours degree and all exemptions from Prof 2 exams with the Chartered Accountants of Ireland on completion of this degree.
