Initially, a general duty police officer in Sydney and then in rural New South Wales. Upon becoming a designated Detective (graduated first place in the NSW Police Force Detectives Course), I worked in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales as a general detective and a Child Protection investigator. I was promoted from Sergeant to Superintendent in 2000. I worked in Orange, New South Wales, before being transferred as the Commander, Employee Management Branch in Sydney were I was responsible for leading a team who dealt with or monitored the management action taken against employees right across the State. I have held various other positions including the Director of Human Resources as an Assistant Commissioner and the Commander, Professional Standards Command. I have received a number of commendations and awards, including the Australian Police Medal (APM). I retired fit and healthy from the NSWPF and took up a short-time position as Assistant Commissioner with the Northern Territory Police until returning to New South Wales in mid 2019.
