ABSTRACT of Range International (USA) Inc.:Implementation of a NZ-patented technology that converts waste plastics to manufacture wood-replacing export-grade shipping pallets. Funding the first use of this technology in the Western Hemisphere, building on the experience and success of the first commercial Thermo-fusion™ site located in Bali, Indonesia which began operation in January 2013. Patented Process and Trademarked Product: This patented process, known as Thermo-fusion™, converts all grades of plastic and press-molds this material into competitively-priced shipping pallets. In addition to the environmental benefits of recycling an increasingly abundant waste, our waste plastic export pallets (Enviropallets™) are a compelling value proposition for the replacement of wooden pallets, in terms of price ($15/each), performance (10x longevity), and operating costs (no fumigation, kiln drying, or repair), and are fully recyclable (“cradle-to-cradle” reuse). The inventor and patent owner, Range International Ltd. (NZ), has invested $14 million in R&D over the past 8 years, and has recieved numerous industrial awards for their efforts. High Profit Potential:The commercial incentives are compelling with a projected IRR of over 90% and 50% margins (EBITDA.) These financial returns are based on conservative assumptions, including $150/ton waste plastic, $22/hour wage labor, $15/pallet price, and generous site costs. More importantly, the business model has been based on a “standalone” basis, i.e., government subsidies or incentives of any kind are not included.Why the U.S.?: The U.S. is the world’s largest producer and user of plastic (25%), and its primacy in world trade drives the commercial use of pallets at nearly 2 billion units annually (nearly 30%.), with domestic pallet purchases averaging $600 million annually. U.S. waste management operations recover 30 million tons of waste plastic annually (per EPA), most of which is landfilled.
