As a classroom teacher the main responsibilities are planning and delivering lessons, targeted at the abilities of students with behavioural and emotional difficulties and making sure student are on track with their grades. Other responsibilities are liaising with parents, schools and other professionals (including social care and the police) to guarantee the safety of the students.

As an intern caseworker my roles and responsibilities were to take a client’s financial situation and prepare a budget for them, including bills and living expenses. Then I would keep in regular contact with creditors and other agencies to ensure the client’s debts were not becoming larger. After preparing a budget I would decide a route out of debt for the client, either bankruptcy, insolvency or repayment.
