50 years experience as a gastroenterologist in academic medicine, have trained 106 fellows in gastroenterology, have conducted basic physiological and translational reseach studies leading to 250 publications and have been a specialist's specialist in gastroenterology which resulted in my inclusion in best Doctors in New York from 1980 (the 1st issue) until my retirement from clinical practice in 2005. I now am fully involved in translational research at Rockefeller University
