As part of a planned succession strategy, we hired Liz Gamboa to take the position of Executive Director handling day-to-day operations and planning. I continue my engagement with NMCC on a part time basis, providing assistance in overall strategic direction and business development for the enterprise. In 2021, the NMCC team in collaboration with Native Women Lead were awarded the Equality Can't Wait grant of $10 million. I'm proud and honored to have helped lay the foundation leading to this success.

Provided a full range of management services, including fund raising, new program development, and Program Director of the flagship program - Native Entrepreneur in Residence Program, which graduated 46 participating companies, generated 276 new jobs year, over $13 million million in new gross revenues, and 6 companies made eligible for additional investment. In less than 4 years, the NEIR program expanded from a local NM effort to serving people from over 20 tribes in 7 different states. During that time, we also introduced the Financial Literacy and Business Basics program to multiple tribes in NM and raised funds to bring it to the Midwest in 2020. Additionally, we embarked on providing significant management consulting services to tribal enterprises locally, regionally, and nationally, including business planning, feasibility analysis, financial modeling, contract project management, and collaborative workforce development. For me, this position evolved in 2016 from consulting assignments and as a mentor in the NEIR program starting in January 2014, providing management guidance to over half the NEIR participant companies, in pre-start; early stage; and high growth mode.

Work included significant financial and legal stabilization, implementation of a major restructure, including liquidation and redeployment of assets followed by refocus of mission statement; consolidation and implementation of re-designed programs, development of logic model, cost per impact reporting, critical increases in fundraising

From this base, founded and grew a management/marketing services company over 15 years, with offices in San Francisco, New York, Salt Lake City, and Albuquerque ---- providing feasibility studies; financial models; target market analysis; branding and differentiation strategies; product development and distribution programs; pricing strategies; sales training, and promotion/communications programs.The firm served a broad range of clients, with a focus on operations-driven industries facing deregulation, resulting in new and significant competitive market pressures.The company had 3 divisions: 1) consulting, analysis and planning 2) program implementation/performance measurement and 3) as a separate enterprise, a national radio syndication business featuring :90 news features in major markets. After 15 years, sold two of the divisions - retaining the consulting services ---- which led to contract operating roles as COO and president for 2 different firms in manufacturing; workouts, growth strategies and implementation. Additionally, acted as an adviser in marketing, finance, and product development in a variety of assignments in construction and manufacturing; specialty agriculture; and retail hospitality industries. Provided management counsel to several dot.com enterprises in the late 90's.
