Hard Hat Training are a training and consulting services company working with organisations and companies in the rail and construction industries.We facilitate face to face training, undertake training design and development, and provide rail safety consultation to rail transport operators, rail infrastructure managers, rolling stock operators, construction companies and other suppliers contracting to the industry.

Project lead for the delivery of Track Worker/Rail Safety projects for the organisation. Positioned in the Rail Corridor Safety division within the Safety Environment Risk (SER) Directorate of Sydney Trains.Protection Officer Network Familiarisation project:Created and managed Protection Officer Network Familiarisation by risk profiling the network, designing and developing training material and curriculum, and implementing familiarisation training for three initial interlocking sites across the Sydney Trains Network.The training was designed to familiarise Protection Officers into locations across the network to ensure they are in a position to undertake their associated activities in a safer and more confident manner.Rail Corridor Safety Awareness project:Project Managed and designed, along with the L&D design team, Rail Corridor Safety Awareness learning solutions for the organisations employees. A 3 tiered approach enabling non Protection Officer qualified employees with access to appropriate learning to support their understanding of worksite protection and rail safety needs and requirements.

Led the implementation for on boarding of the dedicated Protection Officer teams across the Sydney Trains Network and operating within the Network Maintenance Bases across six(6) territories, enabling both the Maintenance Windows (LPA) to be implemented to meet business needs and improving the professionalism of Protection Officers. Designed, developed and administered the Protection Officer Performance Testing assessments to create a pipeline of suitable Protection Officers to be deployed into teams across the Network as part of the Maintenance Windows Program.A $20 million dollar safety project which was unique in nature, incorporating safety & change, and business efficiencies as the key drivers

Conducted competency and qualification based reviews, coaching and audits for Sydney Trains Protection Officers based within the Western Territory region. Provided reports to assist with investigations, incidents and other high level detail and advice where required.The Rail Safety Coach (RSC) was a more formalised and region based approach compared to the previous role of the Track Protection Specialist (TPS).The change delivered by the TPS role was now expected within the organisation. The Rail Safety Coaches were born out of the previous role to deliver a more formal and KPI driven approach.

Deployed at specific depots within the Network where safety support for Protection Officers was required. Pre-cursor to the Rail Safety Coach role, the Track Protection Specialist (TPS) was a pioneering role on the frontline championing safety and change within the organisation and primarily assisting those qualified staff implementing worksite protection.

Seconded from the Track Protection Specialist role to assist Sydney Trains Network Maintenance in setting up the new Track Access Coordinator role for the newly constructed Blacktown Network Base, which was the first new Sydney Trains Network Base to be rolled out across the Network.Tasked with providing safe track access opportunities for Network Maintenance teams via configuration possessions and planned worksite protection for live track environment.

Based in the Blue Mountains region, duties ranged from track maintaining and certification to Protection Officer duties to enable track access for maintenance tasks to be completed safely
