Peter J. Jackson BSc PEng MBA FEC FGC(Hon) ICD.D FCSSE.Managerial Consultant for PJ Jackson Consulting Inc.Peter Jackson retired as Vice President of Operations for the Potash Business Unit of the Mosaic Company in June of 2020 after a 37 year career with the company. He joined Kalium Chemicals (a legacy company to Mosaic) in 1984.Peter has spent most of his career working in the potash industry in Saskatchewan. He started by working summers at the PCS Lanigan Mine during high school and the first two years of university. After his graduation from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering in 1983, Peter joined the Grace Dearborn Company. In 1984 Peter began work at the Mosaic Belle Plaine facility. Starting in research, Peter has held several positions with the company over the years including Manager of Environment and Planning, Belle Plaine Mining Superintendent, VP of Technical Services, General Manager of the Belle Plaine facility before moving to the Vice President role in 2011.Peter has worked on projects at all of the potash business unit sites, included extended stints at Hersey, Esterhazy and Carlsbad. He has extensive experience in the process side of the business augmented by a team based approach to execution. One of his influences is the Jim Collins book “Good to Great”; where getting the right people on the bus and the right people in the right seats should be the first step in creating highly successful teams.Peter is involved in the community having served as President of the Association of Professional Engineers of Saskatchewan, the executive board of the Saskatchewan Mining Association and sits on the board of the Levene School of business at the University of Regina and the advisory board of the University of Regina College of Engineering.Peter is married to Cindy and they have two grown children, Sean who works for the Mosaic K2 site and Katherine a principal architect with P3A in Regina. Peter was a long time volunteer with the Regina Speed-Skating Association. And currently works as a volunteer of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (disciplinary committee, governance review committee and the nominating criteria committee.Away From OfficePeter owns several motorcycles and spends a lot of the summer touring western Canada and the northern United States
