First two major project milestones were completed early. Asked by the Senior Management Team to provide an abstract, and presented the resulting paper at an international symposium in 2018 in Phoenix, AZ, representing Canada and Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. The presentation detailed the innovative and groundbreaking approach used to solve the complex contracting issue and share the ingenuity behind the contracting strategy utilized to recover the project schedule Managed the transformation of a team of nine (9) procurement professionals (Senior/Contract Specialists, Contract Administrators, Procurement Specialists) responsible for the development and execution of all comprehensive RFP processes and Contract Strategies (identifying risks & mitigations, and opportunities) for all project packages, and all site/facility requirements. Negotiated all high-level change orders and contract disputes with all contractors and construction trades. Realized more than $2.5M in savings over 2 years through negotiations. Responsible for interpreting and authoring new contract language, mediating and negotiating claims with all Contractor’s Executives and Legal Counsel. Developed training tools for staff around contract knowledge and interpretation.

 Responsible for construction, engineering, facility maintenance and CapEx (equipment) procurement for a group of Ontario hospitals operating within the Broader Public Sector (BPS) Directives. Created and executed compliant public RFx processes in a timely manner, to assure funding utilization (often granted with time constraints), ensuring that every dollar realized the best value for taxpayers, patients and community residents. Worked closely with Project Managers to ensure contract scope was completed on time and on budget. Worked to qualify new contractors, cultivate new supply relationships. Mediated multiple contractual disputes on the company’s behalf. Delivered raw material cost savings in excess of $5 million over 3 years through negotiation and competitive bidding. Developed and authored new policies, procedures, and training tools for all staff resulting in a more streamlined & efficient P2P process. Client: Sanofi Pasteur A multi-billion dollar global company and world leader in the vaccine industry, offering vaccines that protect against 20 infectious diseases. Led multiple strategic sourcing/RFx processes for goods and services, including marketing/advertising, research physicians, and major projects, securing best value creation for the organization. Secured some “zero increase” contract renewals with vendors, saving more than $250,000 over 3-year terms. Avoided near catastrophic circumstances, quickly facilitating and removing more than 50 skids of corporate owned merchandise/marketing materials over the course of a weekend, before a pending vendor bankruptcy/lockout. Earned "Certified Procurement Consultant" status with international recruiting/placement firm, awarded to those who deliver outstanding results to their key (international) clients.

An industrial bakery supplying quality bread products to retailers, private label and food service operators across North America. Responsible for the procurement of all commodities & ingredients (fresh, dry/dried, liquid, bulk, etc.), raw materials and packaging, as well as facility maintenance, machinery and ancillary goods & services.  Managed an array of commodities through various channels and methods depending on volumes. Coordinated with Production to ensure all customer orders shipped in full & on time. Managed all site/facility service, contracts, vendor relationships and supplier performance. Packaging portfolio included; plastic bags for high-speed automated lines, folding cartons (compatible with erector equipment), corrugate (case erectors and palletizers), packaging film (automated fill lines), oven bags, resealable bags, adhesives, labels, inkjet & barcode equipment/supplies.  Saved more than $300k in production and labour costs through capital project improvements. Hybrid supply strategy (domestic and offshore) on folding cartons saved more than $240,000/year. Worked closely with Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Production to coordinate new product launches across branded and private label and food service products for key accounts. Reduced inventory/improved cash flow by more than $400,000/month through effective supply management strategies and inventory analysis. Initiated innovative waste solutions, negotiated more than $100,000 savings in potential waste packaging in 2007, and tripled compensation for food waste in 2008. Restructured the warehouse layout and stock handling processes to optimize space; greatly improved inventory count accuracy. Reduced department staff through improved process flow, despite a double-digit sales growth; service provision increased in the same period, as the number of SKU’s increased by more than 30%.
