I am currently a sophomore at Bucknell university majoring in computer science & engineering, with a second major in Japanese. Native in English and fluent in German (my dad's mother tongue), I have always been interested in foreign languages, and over the past four years, I have immersed myself in learning Japanese; from an initial desire to understand spoken Japanese while watching my favorite anime shows, I eventually also learned speak Japanese fluently and read books written in Kanji; in December 2023, I passed the N1 level of the JLPT, the highest possible level of the internationally accredited Japanese Language Proficiency Test. The required study time for N1 certification is estimated at around 3000-4800 hours, for students without prior Kanji knowledge like myself. As a computer science major, I certainly also like to code, and I am currently working intensively on expanding my coding abilities. Recently I worked on two exciting projects: an AI chess opponent that I wrote in Python that reached a level of around 1800 Elo, and a calendar app that I am writing in Dart with two other Bucknell students. Learning computer science and coding seems at this point much easier for me than learning Japanese has been. I have been especially committed to it since completing the N1; it's been exciting and fun to take on coding as a new pursuit.

  Habitto is a financial technology company based in Tokyo. I tested the beta app during the launch of the Habitto mobile investing app. I wrote and refactored code for various test app functions. I streamlined the login functions using tests I designed and executed on Appium, Appium Inspector and Android Studio.
