Pretty much involved in all aspects of church leadership but a particular focus on launching and overseeing projects and activities that get the "church" out of the building to impact and our transform our local communities with the love of Jesus. Currently working to set up a network across the city to help people facing challenges with recovery (from addiction), accommodation or employment.

Time for a change ... part-time working with the local church (general leadership, project development, writing teaching materials) ... and finishing the myriad jobs around house and garden I'd never before found time to do (more than I'd realised!). Occasionally thinking about computers and software!

Responsible for technical strategy and architecture of common mediation technologies across the ESB, connectivity and messaging products across the IBM WebSphere family. This is a role that spans multiple development labs across the globe and gives direction to mutliple product development teams.Also act as consultant to major customers on related aspects of IBM product strategy and engage in middleware architectural reviews and workshops. Regular speaker at major IBM conferences and product marketting events.Specific areas of interest and focus include the development of data parsing and mapping technologies (in an ESB context) and the the application of patterns-based engineering techniques to ESB solutions.

Responsible for the overall technical definition of WebSphere Message Broker (formerly MQSeries Integrator), providing technical leadership to the design and implementation team. Since its delivery into the marketplace the product has had an outstanding record of success, winning several major industry awards and establishing a sustained leadership position in the interagration broker and Enterprise Service Bus markets.

Defined architecture and provided technical leadership to team working on prototype for a new internet-based transaction management product.

Responsible for defining technical direction for the Distributed CICS products (OS/2, Windows NT and Unix platforms). Identified new product line items, owned the architectural definition and worked with the business teams to establish items in the product plans.

Managed development team of 16 professionals developing core components of CICS/ESA Transaction Processing product.

Led a small, highly-focussed team developing an X.25 subsystem for IBM OS/2 Extended Edition

Worked on development of graphics subsystems and I/O support for IBM PC software products.
