I am the Head of Force Partnerships within a social enterprise that has a national reach. Our mission is to transform communities, reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and increase public confidence in the police service by recruiting, developing and inspiring diverse individuals to be leaders in society and the policing frontline. I lead a team who work with 36 of the UK Police Forces to develop partnerships and implement programmes focused on neighbourhood policing, direct entry detectives and frontline leadership with a diversity first approach. My role involves oversight of partnership accounts, business development, relationship management and programme implementation. It also includes the delivery of events for the national policing audience. This includes showcasing Police Now’s training academies to police forces and stakeholders.

Secondment

Selected on secondment, I provide guidance to the FCDO on law enforcement matters, specifically cases that are complex, involve high risk situations, or may hold political, diplomatic or international impact. Considering issues which present significant risk to UK nationals and their activity overseas, I facilitate and galvanise help where appropriate, utilising a network of national and international contacts. Supporting British citizens who are vulnerable and require assistance, I advise on a range of issues from forced marriages and complex safeguarding cases to missing persons and homicides, ensuring access to justice systems and support on return to the UK. I advise British nationals and UK agencies, offering a realistic view of what can be provided by the FCDO around legal, logistical or procedural processes. Driving cohesion between organisations, I seek to develop understanding and build resilient and productive relationships across international law enforcement and government partners. I contribute to ministerial and senior working groups in the UK and liaise effectively with foreign embassies and ambassadors. Demonstrating diplomacy and absolute respect for differing priorities, I exercise exceptional influencing and negotiation skills to secure successful outcomes.

Basic Command Unit (Bcu)

I held operational policing command across four demanding and diverse London boroughs, leading 1,400 police officers in the delivery of policing services to over 1m residents. I successfully managed diverse stakeholder relationships across dynamic environments and demanding events, securing community safety during a time of significant threat and risk. I led collaborative alliances across multiple community areas, serving as the Vice Chair for the Community Safety Partnership, driving the delivery of priorities alongside the management of resources and capability development.During this time, I directed a merger of policing services, implementing a new operating model and managing employee relations and restructuring issues. Updating practices and structures, I ensured continued excellent service delivery, contributing to an organisational savings target of £460m. I championed open communication within a restructured workforce, successfully delivering the largest merger of policing services in London, on time, within budget and meeting all performance targets.

Operational Policing - London

As the senior police lead for a busy London borough, I managed over 550 staff across six sites. I led on corporate and community engagement, overseeing all due diligence and governance. I directed multi-agency operations and critical incidents and supported national initiatives, including counter terrorism and the development of emergency planning and testing. Leading operational services across diverse specialisms, I ensured the delivery of corporate and community priorities to 330,000 residents. I implemented robust performance management around finance, HR, staff performance, crime and emergency response functions. I successfully steered major change projects and led various boards including multi-agency public protection, safeguarding and the local authority commission, providing due diligence and ethical governance oversight.

Territorial Policing Capability And Business Support

Within this central team, I led the quality assurance on the organisational implementation of an innovative local policing model. I ensured the successful application of this new approach, facilitating change through open communication, tenacity and determination.

Immigration Intelligence - Secondment

Tasked to review national immigration intelligence structures, I conducted inspections, interviews and workshops. I recommended and implemented innovative changes to improve threat identification, risk assessment and prioritisation to improve resource management and service delivery. I was awarded a Home Office commendation for my contribution to this critical change programme.

Directorate Of Professional Standards - Intelligence

Detective Superintendent - I managed a team of 70 specialist investigators and data and intelligence analysts, to identify and report on organisational threat, assess risk and investigate complex and sensitive internal enquiries. I directed intelligence gathering to detect corruption, serious misconduct and unethical practices and developed and implemented new policies and procedures to mitigate risk.I designed and implemented a new operating model, merging and creating functions, services and policies to secure integrity and develop early warning behavioural triggers to improve ethical practices. This role involved briefing at the highest levels on organisational priorities and relationship and stakeholder management across the organisation.

Investigation of complex corruption and high profile allegations and sensitive enquiries.Senior Investigating Officer leading teams in the investigation of high profile misconduct and corruption allegations including death or serious injury following police contact, the discharge of police firearms and a range of offences enabled by abuse of position and power. I developed highly effective strategies, drove the identification of risk and secured organisational learning.

Operational Policing - Delivering policing across a district of Sussex, I managed a diverse portfolio, responding to exacting demands and driving crime reduction initiatives, safeguarding and counter terrorism resilience whilst ensuring delivery of effective day to day service. Joining Forces Team - I scoped the merger of protective policing services throughout Surrey and Sussex. As the project lead, I assessed needs and capabilities around investigations and intelligence, counter terrorism, roads policing and public order on behalf of two police authorities.Operations and Intelligence Branch - Leading a staff of 120, I directed intelligence services in Sussex, managing diverse disciplines around the gathering and utilisation information drawn from surveillance, technical sources and financial investigations. I developed innovative approaches to successfully challenge and mitigate serious and organised crime activity. I also served in a 24/7 on call capacity, managing evolving high threat live events.Criminal Investigation Department - I directed investigations, leading the tasking and coordination of operational resourcing throughout a large geographical area. I led serious crime cases, ensuring stringent reviews, proactive strategy and assessment and management of significant risk.
