Provide legal counsel, support and representation on a wide variety of employment legal matters including litigation in state and federal courts, administrative charges, and mediations. Advise and train business teams on employee relations matters, employment policies, and compliance with federal and state employment laws. Investigate and defend claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in multiple jurisdictions across the country. Direct outside counsel in defense of multiple national FLSA class action lawsuits that resulted in favorable settlement amounts. Advise HR leadership on ADA, ADEA, Title VII compliance. Train HR management throughout the country on a variety of employment matters. Overhaul accommodation request process for entire company, including drafting model request forms, training on interactive process and undue burden analysis, and creating storage location for all files related to accommodations. Audit time keeping practices for multiple sites across the country to ensure compliance with FLSA. Rewrite employee handbook for all US-based employees. Draft separation agreements, settlement agreements, investigation guidelines, sexual harassment training, as well as documents and policies for work from home program in multiple states. Team with operations and client services to move thousands of employees to at-home workers during the COVID pandemic.

Instruct students about the various aspects of a trial practice including opening statements, closing arguments, direct examination, cross examination, making and responding to objections, admission of exhibits, and development of case theory. Coach school trial advocacy team for largest mock trial competition in the country. Mentor students in preparation and presentation of case problem. Successfully coached teams that were named 2014 Region Finalists, 2015 Regional Champions, and 2015 National Semifinalists, 2016 Regional Finalists, 2017 Regional Champions, 2018 Regional Champions, 2019 Regional Champions and 2019 National Semifinalists.

Work collaboratively with law enforcement and prosecutors statewide to improve capacity for effective criminal justice responses to sexual violence offenses. Work with the Department of Public Safety to develop and deliver training in trauma informed response and investigation of sexual assault and abuse. Develop and present specialized trainings and professional development seminars relating to current and emerging issues in criminal law. Travel throughout the state training judges, prosecutors, law enforcement officers, and victim advocates. Assist in drafting legislation and on occasion appear before the state legislature as a representative of the Utah Prosecution Council.

As a member of the Organized Gang Prosecution Team prosecuted and aided in investigation of various types of crimes committed by documented gang members in Salt Lake County. On the Violent Felony Team prosecuted person crimes of a violent nature including several homicide cases all of which resulted in convictions. As a member of the Special Victims Team investigated and prosecuted primarily first-degree felony sex crimes and crimes against children, from screening phase through sentencing. Lead counsel for 50 jury trials taken to verdict including 8 homicide trials.

As a member of the Felony Team, handled a full felony case load, from screening phase through sentencing. As Misdemeanor Attorney, handled county justice court caseload.
